I’ve been writing blog posts (like this one write now!) in markdown for around 6 months.
Stealing this workflow from Ian Lurie, I write posts in Notepad++, save locally on my laptop, and then push to Github.
Once they’re ready to publish, I export the HTML and paste it into WordPress. Easy!
Doing this gives me:
- Access to my posts from anywhere
- Access to my posts in a format that isn’t proprietary
- Easy version control
