Sometimes we’re faced with a choice of engaging with the status quo in an attempt to “change things from the inside”.

This rarely works and, more often than not, results in a trangulated compromise that doesn’t work for anyone.

Instead, consider building your own thing. It can be inclusive and kind and welcoming but, since it’s new, it avoids having the wade through and unpick the status quo you were avoiding in the first place.
